The LUAI Network, Laos University Association for Internationalisation Network of the OPEN project has been created through the cooperation of the five universities of Lao PDR, the Ministry of Education of Laos and 2 European universities, as part of the EU-funded Erasmus+ project “OPEN-ing Laos Higher Education System to Internationalisation strategies”. The aim of the project has been to support HEIs in Lao PDR in strengthening their capacities to update, implement and sustain their internationalisation policies.

The aim of the LUAI Network is to strengthen and structure the collaboration between Laotian universities in the field of internationalisation for higher education. By collaborating, the partners improve their skills and policies in research, training, networking, policies, mobilities, and management of their international relations offices.

The founding members of LUAI Network are Champasack University (CU), the National University of Laos (NUOL), Savannakhet University (SKA), Souphanouvong University (SU), and the University of Health Sciences and the Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR (MoES). LUAI’s Network management and financial resources are supported by its members-IROs and by the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES).
