The five OPEN Partners successfully delivered five Internationalisation Strategic Plans that planned the institution’s international activity and growth for the period 2020-2024.

The goal of these Strategic Plans is that of providing the institutional element to the project, and consequently to ensure its sustainability overtime. In these plans, the international institution’s mission was determined. For example, Champasack University IRO’s mission is to contribute to the capacity building of international cooperation, research collaboration, innovation, and community service for internationalisation, and the National University of Laos IRO’s mission is, among others, to create local and international partnerships to ensure benefits from internationalisation are perceived. The planning for the period 2020-2024 included several key actions, expected number of students, marketing plants, new developments, etc.

The process to achieve these strategic documents consisted of a (1) review, (2) elaboration, and (3) adoption phase. During the first phase, the strategic bases were consulted and considered. The second phase was that of negotiation and creation of international strategic proposals. In the last phase, the previously published International Strategic Plan was adopted. Along these phases, exposure, dissemination, and public participation were also important.

These plans are key to ensuring that the results of OPEN projects last once the project lifetime is over. So, it is very good news that the partners could collaborate and elaborate on these in a successful manner.
